The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 1When Ryuunosuke regained his consciousness, everything was dark. While waiting for his eyes to adjust, he looks back on the last things that had happen to him. He remembers the flower. The spell. The voices. The run. Now it appears that he's been taken. Only three words came and repeated in his head as he sat up. This is bad.
This is bad. This is bad. This is bad. This is bad.
Objects finally become lighter for him to see. As he stood up he saw how large of a room he was in. The floor had hay scattered about with some tables oddly located around the room. Pathetic holding place...
For the first time, he notices other children, like him, held within the stony walls that reek of a foul odor. Doing his best not to gag, he walks over to a table. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a boy walk up to him. Ryuunosuke did not feel like conversing, there was plenty more to worry about. Trying to ignore him by looking down wasn't working. The boy began to talk on his own. He went
The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: ProlougeA bright sun begins its descent behind a barrier of wavering trees. Birds chirp and crickets play their songs of the evening. A very young boy sits on top of a hill as the cold Autumn air rolls on a grassy field below him. He gazes into the distance, unto a quiet town surrounded by the awakening forestry. His thoughts wandered and faded like the final rays of the dying day. He takes a deep breath of the flying wind, feeling a distant but noticeable change in atmosphere that tore him from his trance. Not knowing what to make out of it, he reaches for a daisy that was isolated from the others. He knew how childish it might seem, but it was the only way he he knew to be sure of what he was feeling. Clasping the flower between his fingers, he concentrates on a question.
Is something bad happening?
Remembering an old spell he learn long ago, he whispers a rhyme.
“Eye of Newt, with your power, you shall be my guiding flower. Eye of Newt, tell me sure, what the future has in stor
Neka's Odyssey Chapter 6: A Close EncounterIt was only moments before Neka realised how much Ryuunosuke had been conversing. He talked of the various villages, the type of people and races who lived there. He also explained things about the forest, like how it reacts to strangers. She didn't enjoy being called a stranger, even if it wasn't direct. The word still made her feel insecure, unwelcome. But she couldn't avoid the word. She was a stranger in this world, even if it was strange in itself.
"You need to be careful around this place. I'm sure you've had you're fair share of being fooled by trick paths to send you running in circles." He was laughing under his voice. The thought of someone, her, getting lost pleased him in someway. It did not reasure her trust in him; In fact, it weakened. She dwelled upon the memory of the last town she had been in. The smiles on the childrens' faces, old man Satoshi. Then she remembered the boy who was burned. Everyone was happy to see him die so horribly, and then to act as if it never ha
Neka's Odyssey Chapter 5: Into the WoodsShe was sure it has been at least thirty minutes since the two of them entered the forest. The elf, now known as Ryuunosuke, has been silent the entire time, leading Neka supposedly to a castle. She wasn't sure whether to believe him or not, but the threat of death lingered over her shoulders. She figured doing something was entirely better than doing nothing at this point, even if it meant trailing after a red-eyed stranger through an unfamiliar place. She took this time to engross herself in the scenery.
The multitude of trees stood tall and wavered from the cool breeze as the fair green leaves on their outstretched limbs gradually developed amber and golden hues. Even as the leaves started their dying transformation, none of them ever tried to float onto the ground. Which had lain perfectly untouched with sharp blades of grass claimed it as their own. The path they were walking on was worn down and dusty, the complete opposite of the rest of the land.
Another minute of si
Neka's Odyssey Chapter 4: QuestionsNeka's head began to work at full speed. Someone was looking for her. Someone was defiantly looking for her. She felt like a mouse cornered by a malicious cat just by the words that came from that boy's mouth. The only thing swirling in her head were the questions 'Is he going to turn me in? Is this some sort of kidnapping? Am I being taken to some kind of prison?' Thoughts churned and thrashed in her mind as the elf in front of her simply stood there, as if waiting for some reply. She was to soon give him one.
"W-Why? Why is someone after me? I didn't do anything!" Anxiety boiled up as her heart raced. The idea of being taken away almost made her want to faint. The boy merely inhaled.
"It's not like that. I just know someone who HAS to find you. So you can begin your task."
He nodded. "I heard you met a lady near the ruins, right? Do you remember what she told you?"
Neka did her best to recall the moment she encountered the woman sitting on the stone bench. Her hair gra
Neka's Odyssey Chapter 3: Stranger in Serenity☽❈☾
A few days past and Neka was quite used to the village she was welcomed into. It looked like any other day. The sky was the right shade of blue with several clouds skimming through the fresh air. The sun poured its light over everything like it always did. But wasn't the same, she would think. It was better, much better.
Neka strolled about the town, taking in the sights. She watched as a woman told jokes to a group of other ladies, a merchant selling a beaded bracelet to intrigued customers. She saw the children from before now playing a game in an open field.
She breathed in, talking to herself, "This is what peacefulness must feel like nice to finally have it for once." She stood there, and smiled. The words and noises were now mumbles in her mind. She brushed off everything that had happened to her, she ignored it all. She was happy.
Just then, a voice close behind her broke the silence.
"Hey. You there."
Neka gasped and spun around
