The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 10It didn't take long for morning to arrive. What used to be an area of open flames only a heap of burned rubbish with a thin line of smoke rising out of its ashes. The room reeked of burnt straw and sulfur which did not suite well for an ache ridden someone. Ryuunosuke looked around to notice things he was oblivious to during the little meeting. ' Shouldn't there have been a lot more smoke about trying to suffocate us ? And wouldn't the fire eat away at all out air? Guess they found a way around all of that Guess being made up of near entirely out of magic can be this much convenient "
Apparently, many of the other inhabitants of the room knew what time it was as they went through the only door, be it told by someone of higher authority or just by the doorway being open, Ryuunosuke had not cared. All he felt were his eyelids weighing down his entire body, unable to blink away the dryness in his eyes. Standing up became
The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 9Ryuunosuke wiped his bloodied hands the best he could while Zhentia gave what could've been a short laugh. For an instant he wondered why, but asking felt bothersome. Sitting down he realized how quiet the small group had gotten, it almost felt unsettling as the seconds were stretched. Ryuunosuke didn't want to waste the seconds merely idling and took the time to remember a moment when Kyden had said something about using them to have three some ones murdered in some plot. He couldn't entirely recall two of them; he had to know more if it truly meant life or death. He looked to Kyden who, with Vokun, stared into the flames of the fire with such intrigue it was as if they were hypnotized. Ryuunosuke's feelings were unshared, ignoring the heat in hopes of keeping his headache from growing.
"Are we just gonna sit here and look at fire?" Zhentia broke the silence with dissatisfaction written across her forehead.
"Huh? Oh... Sorry." Vokun laughed, and with Kyden's attention drawn as well Ry
The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 8The flames grew brighter with each step Ryuunosuke took. He couldn't run back to the sanctuary of his corner with his hand held in place by the boy named Vokun. The images of both Kyden and Zhentia became clearer as well as their expressions; Zhentia seemed well enough pleased with whatever's going on while Kyden showed some form of indifference towards Vokun's actions.
"Told you he was just sleeping." He retorted, possibly ending a previous argument, while Vokun plopped down between the two kids sitting down with his back to the fire. Ryuunosuke lowered himself carefully, his limbs still recovering from their long sleep. He wanted to correct Kyden, even as a small misunderstanding he didn't want to leave it alone.
"Wasn't sleeping. Only sitting."
"Well you should've been thinking with all that 'sitting'. I bet you still don't have any idea of what we're gonna do to get out of here."
Ryuunosuke stared at the ceiling as he realized the blatantly
The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 7Whispers were hushed and feet patted the floor as Ryuunosuke sat within his decorated corner. His limbs couldn't utter a single jerk much less any other movement, same goes for his half-opened eyes; only letting him see what was in his direct vision: stone. Feeling totally paralyzed in body and spirit, he let his thoughts wander on whatever they could. Soon, even his mind felt like it was depleting; as if everything he imagined, he cared of less and less.
He stopped caring about the feeling of touch, losing feeling in his arms and legs as they fell asleep. Hearing didn't matter anymore as noise began to muffle together and fall silent. He stopped worrying about smell and taste altogether. Eyesight wavered between lights and shadows until it fixated on a muted grey. Nothing mattered to him anymore; not even emotions as he stared into the well of oblivion he created for himself, and he didn't feel anything at all. This went on until a force rose up next to him, slowly advancing towards h
The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 6Following the seemingly mindless mass of people, Ryuunosuke took the time to wonder about the spider he had met only hours ago. He thought about how it could have crawled in, if someone placed it there on purpose. He imagined it squeezing pass Kyden's head just as he woke up and tried to evaluate the entire moment, only leaving him more confused as he entered the open room.
In the back of the group, he waited for them to disperse throughout room with a wide range of chairs and tables in order for him to find a spot with the least disturbance. Luck dawned as he came across an empty table; he walked as quickly as he could, without looking desperate, before he hopped onto a seat. His mind wandered as he sat there, until he realized he hasn't seen Zhentia since the time she stopped Kyden and him from fighting. He looked around to find her but noticed that other kids had already managed to get food, now leaving him curious as to where they'd taken it from. A secluded area stood out from a w
Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 5Days went by, how many, Ryuunosuke didn't care for, and the circumstances hasn't changed. He was still locked away in some unknown place with no solid plan or idea of a way to get out. The only difference was an increase in insects, which managed to get themselves anywhere. Every so often he would be forced to order them to go away, only working half the time. One evening Ryuunosuke sits in his usual corner.
Turning to his left, he spots Kyden once again fast asleep. With the conclusion that insisting on anything to him now would be futile, he leaned back against the connected walls he had claimed his own and attempted to give his eyes some rest. But something in the corner of his eye caught his wanning attention and made him drag his eyes back to see something that wasn't there before.
The thing he continuously stared at was nearly larger than Kyden's head and its jagged, hairy legs proded at the stone floor with a tick so silent and irritating it would bring pain to the impatient. Th
Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 4The pain swelling through Ryuunosuke's body hadn't stopped. Every breath he took was made difficult with inconsistant, sudden pauses. He kept his hands to his face as each of his fingers would tense up, resisting the urge to cut into his skin.
His head filled with screams and calls of attack and he violently shook them away. Suddenly, a pair of small hands gently latched onto his shoulders. It didn't take a turn of the head to know who it was.
"It's okay... It's okay..." Zhentia was doing her best to console him. Clenched teeth was the only response, but it wasn't as if he could properly form a sentence anyway. The fingers pressed to his temple pushed harder and his teeth rubbed against one another.
Okay? I wouldn't exactly define this as "okay". Running into trees and falling into puddles might be okay, but this.... this- whatever the hell it is, it isn't "OKAY"... Though I admire your ability to withstand those attacks and still try to help... Even with your voice shaking...
