The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 6Following the seemingly mindless mass of people, Ryuunosuke took the time to wonder about the spider he had met only hours ago. He thought about how it could have crawled in, if someone placed it there on purpose. He imagined it squeezing pass Kyden's head just as he woke up and tried to evaluate the entire moment, only leaving him more confused as he entered the open room.
In the back of the group, he waited for them to disperse throughout room with a wide range of chairs and tables in order for him to find a spot with the least disturbance. Luck dawned as he came across an empty table; he walked as quickly as he could, without looking desperate, before he hopped onto a seat. His mind wandered as he sat there, until he realized he hasn't seen Zhentia since the time she stopped Kyden and him from fighting. He looked around to find her but noticed that other kids had already managed to get food, now leaving him curious as to where they'd taken it from. A secluded area stood out from a w
Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 5Days went by, how many, Ryuunosuke didn't care for, and the circumstances hasn't changed. He was still locked away in some unknown place with no solid plan or idea of a way to get out. The only difference was an increase in insects, which managed to get themselves anywhere. Every so often he would be forced to order them to go away, only working half the time. One evening Ryuunosuke sits in his usual corner.
Turning to his left, he spots Kyden once again fast asleep. With the conclusion that insisting on anything to him now would be futile, he leaned back against the connected walls he had claimed his own and attempted to give his eyes some rest. But something in the corner of his eye caught his wanning attention and made him drag his eyes back to see something that wasn't there before.
The thing he continuously stared at was nearly larger than Kyden's head and its jagged, hairy legs proded at the stone floor with a tick so silent and irritating it would bring pain to the impatient. Th
Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 4The pain swelling through Ryuunosuke's body hadn't stopped. Every breath he took was made difficult with inconsistant, sudden pauses. He kept his hands to his face as each of his fingers would tense up, resisting the urge to cut into his skin.
His head filled with screams and calls of attack and he violently shook them away. Suddenly, a pair of small hands gently latched onto his shoulders. It didn't take a turn of the head to know who it was.
"It's okay... It's okay..." Zhentia was doing her best to console him. Clenched teeth was the only response, but it wasn't as if he could properly form a sentence anyway. The fingers pressed to his temple pushed harder and his teeth rubbed against one another.
Okay? I wouldn't exactly define this as "okay". Running into trees and falling into puddles might be okay, but this.... this- whatever the hell it is, it isn't "OKAY"... Though I admire your ability to withstand those attacks and still try to help... Even with your voice shaking...
The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: 1When Ryuunosuke regained his consciousness, everything was dark. While waiting for his eyes to adjust, he looks back on the last things that had happen to him. He remembers the flower. The spell. The voices. The run. Now it appears that he's been taken. Only three words came and repeated in his head as he sat up. This is bad.
This is bad. This is bad. This is bad. This is bad.
Objects finally become lighter for him to see. As he stood up he saw how large of a room he was in. The floor had hay scattered about with some tables oddly located around the room. Pathetic holding place...
For the first time, he notices other children, like him, held within the stony walls that reek of a foul odor. Doing his best not to gag, he walks over to a table. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a boy walk up to him. Ryuunosuke did not feel like conversing, there was plenty more to worry about. Trying to ignore him by looking down wasn't working. The boy began to talk on his own. He went
The Dragon's Way- Ryuunosuke: ProlougeA bright sun begins its descent behind a barrier of wavering trees. Birds chirp and crickets play their songs of the evening. A very young boy sits on top of a hill as the cold Autumn air rolls on a grassy field below him. He gazes into the distance, unto a quiet town surrounded by the awakening forestry. His thoughts wandered and faded like the final rays of the dying day. He takes a deep breath of the flying wind, feeling a distant but noticeable change in atmosphere that tore him from his trance. Not knowing what to make out of it, he reaches for a daisy that was isolated from the others. He knew how childish it might seem, but it was the only way he he knew to be sure of what he was feeling. Clasping the flower between his fingers, he concentrates on a question.
Is something bad happening?
Remembering an old spell he learn long ago, he whispers a rhyme.
“Eye of Newt, with your power, you shall be my guiding flower. Eye of Newt, tell me sure, what the future has in stor
Neka's Odyssey Chapter 6: A Close EncounterIt was only moments before Neka realised how much Ryuunosuke had been conversing. He talked of the various villages, the type of people and races who lived there. He also explained things about the forest, like how it reacts to strangers. She didn't enjoy being called a stranger, even if it wasn't direct. The word still made her feel insecure, unwelcome. But she couldn't avoid the word. She was a stranger in this world, even if it was strange in itself.
"You need to be careful around this place. I'm sure you've had you're fair share of being fooled by trick paths to send you running in circles." He was laughing under his voice. The thought of someone, her, getting lost pleased him in someway. It did not reasure her trust in him; In fact, it weakened. She dwelled upon the memory of the last town she had been in. The smiles on the childrens' faces, old man Satoshi. Then she remembered the boy who was burned. Everyone was happy to see him die so horribly, and then to act as if it never ha
